Yoko Sizzlers restaurant reviews

  1. Yoko Sizzlers - Greater Kailash, Delhi: Restaurant Reviews

    Ravi Bansal

Eating in Yoko sizzlers is quite an experience. They have an extensive menu which has something to please even the most Indianised palate. I was there in the Greater Kailash 2 restaurant with a group of friends last weekend. The ambience is modern yet comfortable. We had already planned to have their steaks so we decided to skip their soups. I opted for the Steak Satellite that had well grilled meat served along with Mushroom, Fresh Cream and Cheese - loved the presentation and loved every bite of it. A friend opted Vegetarian version of the same and was quite impressed. The yoko folks have got the recipe of getting the combination of the sauce, steak, accompaniments just right. We finished our fantastic meal with some Caramel custartd and brownies. Sweet end to a wonderful meal.

Yoko Sizzlers is quite a quaint name for a place that serves sizzlers - an essentially American concept of serving portions of meat, vegetables, rice and fries in a heated metal plate. I'd taken my buddies for a lunch treat the other day to Yoko Sizzlers - a chain that serve sizzlers food in India. Loved the looks of the Greater Kailash outlet. The staff very attentive and helpful and we quickly got down to ordering. We decided on their piece de resistance - Yoko Special Steak. T-bone steak and Veg. Sizzler with Noodles and Mushroom. With all of us opting for variants of their sizzlers we were all set for a big, heavy and satisfying meal and what a meal it was! The meats were marinated well, seasoned well and grilled to perfection, we loved the salads and the accompaniments. We are going back to take in some more.

Sizzlers are not entirely new in India, we are used to the tava delights and such but in the continental versions with steaks and all is what is new to us. Some restaurants served variations of this way back but it's only now that the popularity is zooming with specialty restaurants and chains. They offer a plethora of sauces, options of steaks/cutlets etc and the customer really feels like the king with such a big repast. I had been to Yoko Sizzlers in Greater Kailash 2 with a friend. While she ordered a Veg. Sizzler with Noodles & Mushroom I chose to go with a Seafood Mixed Grill. Fantastic would be an understatement. LOVED every morsel of it. The flavors were fantastic and never realized that seafood could work so well in a sizzler BTW don't forget to check out their fantastic ice-creams. Truly sweet endings.

I have been to GK's Yoko for sizzlers before but this time around I happened to be in the vicinity and decided to step in for a quick bite of their fantastic Steak Bun. Of course my colleague a vegetarian was with me and I suggested a Russian Salad Sandwich. Their sandwich blocks are really interesting and they have a nice thick layer of bread with a lovely filling inside. Coming to my Steak bun, it was nothing but pure delight in terms of indulgence layers of cheese, veggies and succulent steak inside burger buns and grilled.. Pure heaven..Of course we had some of their famous brownies and fruit juice too. Such a filling and satisfying meal.

  5. Yoko Sizzlers- Defence Colony, Delhi: Restaurant Reviews

In US, steak houses are a plenty. I was missing all those from my university days. I am a big fan and eating steaks in the fancy restaurants was not what my wallet wanted Luckily I chanced on an option in Defence Colony itself in the form of Yoko Sizzlers. I had heard about them but never had a chance to sample their sizzling steaks. For a good steak, the meat has to be tender, the marinade flavourful and the sauce should complement the dish. Based on my experience in ordering the Mutton chops, I would says that they have their formula right. The portions are huge and can easily satiate a very hungry person with a big appetite. Loved the service staff's attitude and their wonderful service. Yoko ko chako doston.

Defence colony residents are quite a lucky lot. Apart from staying in a lovely neighbourhood, the residents also get to sample fare in some good restaurants - one of them being Yoko Sizzlers. I was left impressed after my recent visit. My wife actually suggested that we check out this place. I was sceptical as I was not sure how well the steaks would be in a chain of resturants. After an awesome meal there, have to say that my fears were unfounded. My wife chose a Veg. exotica - the highlight being a melange of colourful vegetables that accompany the fare. She loved it. My choice was a T-bone with mashed potatoes. The steak was good but the mashed potatoes were extremely bland. They ought to find ways to season the mashed potatoes. Their ice creams are totally out of the world. Must try!!!

Inflation has sure cut down on my eating out budget. I go to the new places only after researching them thoroughly to ensure my rupee is well spent. On Friday night, I thought I'll stop by Yoko Sizzlers in Defence colony for a meal as it came recommended by couple of friends. My co-worker was game too and we decided to check out their sizzlers. We were warned about the huge portions so we opted for a soup each and decided to split the Hamburger steak in garlic sauce. The soup was ok and the steak was just too good for words. Fresh and tender meat and amazing sauce. We decided to also taste the caramel custard and even that was really yummy. Good meal at superb prices.

Yoko sizzlers gets mixed reviews from a lot of people - they either love it or hate it. I had been there long back and decided to go again. I had liked the variety of steaks and sizzlers here and the choice even now is mind boggling. The Defence colony outlet on that day sure had a lot of patrons. The restaurant was bursting its seams with people but luckily we had reservations (would recommend that you reserve ur table). The three of us decided to split two sizzlers between us. We started with their Onion With Cheese, Mushroom Soup and Sweet corn soup. The soups were decent. We decided on the Veg. Sizzler with Spaghetti & Cheese and Sizzling Chicken with Oyster Sauce. While the veg sizzler got unanimous thumbs up, my friends like the chicken one while I thought it could be better. Loved the oyster sauce though. It's worth a try.

  9. Yoko Sizzlers- Santacruz (W), Mumbai: Restaurant Reviews

    Praful Mhatre

I love the sizzling hot meals at yoko sizzlers. As Indians we are used to eating hot meals and this is the closest western match to our steaming hot thalis I am a sizzler loyalist but I have tried Yokos sandwiches and burgers too. Like the steak burger and the Russian salad sandwich but I come back again and again for the sizzlers. On my top 3 I would put their Chicken Satellite, Sizzling Chicken with Pepper sauce and Veg. Sizzler with Baked Beans, Noodles and Garlic Sauce. I come by to the Santacruz outlet most often but have tried the others too. Good food and real friendly and nice staff. Make sure you have a huge appetite when you come here as the portions are huge or get a like minded companion to share your food - they serve the food in huge quantities.

Yoko sizzlers is my kind of place. I go often to the santacruz yoko as its close to my home. By often I don't mean once every week, but definitely once a month. Their chicken shashliks are one of a kind and I have found nowhere else. Honestly I havnt gone to any other similar joints and frankly with yoko near your house you don't need to also. My favorites are fried pepper chicken which at around rs 370 is the finest cooked chicken pieces you can eat anywhere. The taste is not too spicy and just oozes onto your tongue. I have tried a few other dishes too and the chicken sausage one is also a good one to try.

  11. Yoko Sizzlers- Malad (W), Mumbai: Restaurant Reviews

    Pramilla Shah

Yoko Sizzlers are our gangs favourite haunt in Malad. For one, this place has a nice look to it. Its bright, cheerful and peppy and matches our mood for masti .For a gang of 6, this place works out fine as the sizzlers here are huge so we try to share one between the two of us. We have tried all the vegetarian varieties here. We absolutely adore the Satellite ones, the Veg and the Paneer ones are the two options. The Veg Shashlik is also a must try. I love their fries and the mashed potatoes that you get as sides. Then there are their to-die-for-desserts. Try the brownies and you'll know why I go in raptures.

  12. Neha Tripathi

I have gone to Yoko sizzlers at Malad from office few weeks back. We have been building lot of financial models for an important client in US and after the completion of project, the MD was so impressed that he allowed the PM to take us all out for a nice dinner. We settled on yoko after many discussions and boy it was such a good decision. It was my first time there we as a small group of 4 ordered mostly sizzlers only. Mine was a veg sizzler with noodles and mushroom and it was one of the novel and best things I have had in life so far. Absolutely yummy and I loved every bit of it.

  13. Yoko Sizzlers- Bandra (W), Mumbai: Restaurant Reviews

    Tariq Sheikh

Yoko Sizzlers, Bandra (w) This is one place I keep going back to. Familiarity normally breeds contempt but my relationship with their awesome food keeps getting stronger over the years. I have also had the opportunity to try some of their lesser known dishes like Wienner-Schinitzel (an Austrian cutlet) - yummy meat that's coated with eggs and breadcrumbs and deep fried. It's really good. Another favourite for a heavy Sunday morning breakfast is an Anglo dish called Agoori that's also on their menu. It's a creamy concoction of eggs and milk and is made well here too… Their steaks are well known but look for the ones that come with stuffed capsicum (side). The stuffed capsicum is very very nice here.

I stay in ghatkopar with a friend but like going to bandra a lot. I generally like the place, the shopping, the restaurants and the bandstand. Awesome experience. It is on one of these trips that my friend took me to this yoko sizzlers. What a name to keep for a restaurant, I thought while entering the restaurant. But once we were seated and I saw the steaming dishes being served on the tables, I got mighty excited. The chicken shashlik with fried rice is an awesome combination. Delicious chicken pieces served with lot of tasty sauce on top and very very hot. My mouth got slightly burnt initially, but once I got over that, it was great. Im hoping to go there once more in the next few weeks.

  15. Yoko Sizzlers - Andheri (W), Mumbai: Restaurant Reviews

    Rathin Shroff

The Yoko sizzler chain has been around in Mumbai for the last 15 years plus and it still goes strong. Weve seen Italian, Mexican, Lebanese cuisines etc get popular but there is a big loyal crowd who still vouches for the sizzlers. There is a reason why the crowd still goes mad for a dish that is patties, fries mashed potatoes/grilled veggies, salad that is topped with special sauces - the only reason is the taste and the service. The Andheri branch is good that way - the service staff is pleasant and they treat customers like kings. My all time favorites are their Veg Sizzler with cheese, Chcken Shashlik with fried rice and steak with pepper sauce. Their caramel custard is way too good.

  16. Robin Kurien

I don't like andheri a lot because its too crowded. But once our Mumbai office had booked me a room in andheri for the business seminar that was taking place in one of hotels there. It was a two day affair and by the end of first day itself I was bored to death. In the vening I was wondering what to do when some of the fellows in the Mumbai office started making plans to go to yoko sizzlers in andheri. Since I had nothing better to do I tagged along and in hindsight it actually turned out to be good. We as a group ordered lot of dishes and my mutton shashlik was gorgeous. Loved it completely. After that I opted for a caramel custard which was again delicious. Poora paisa wasool experience. Highly recommended.

  17. Yoko Sizzlers - Fort, Mumbai: Restaurant Reviews

    Vikram Chabra

There is a secret about Yoko sizzlers that not too many people know -the desserts are fantastic. I know dessert is not the first thing that think of at a place like this but their caramel custard and their ice-creams are my faves…. I could come here just to eat those. However I do come by and eat their sizzlers and other dishes too. My favorites are their Chicken and Veg Satellite, Veg Exotica, and chicken and cheese grilled sandwich. The Fort branch is well located and I like the place. The staff is friendly and help out the first timers. Wallet factor for a meal is a little on the high side, but considering the portions sizes and the quality of food I would say its worth it.

  18. Rupali Banerjee

I had come to Mumbai to visit my cousin and on a Saturday and Sunday she took me to south Mumbai for shopping and general chilling out. And among these times we also had a stop at this nice restaurant called Yoko sizzlers. Amazing kind of dishes they have. I opted for a veg sizzler which had lot of grilled vegetables including capsicum, babycorn etc. It was a bit too much for my small stomach, but thankfully my cuz is a voracious eater. After that we also ordered a mousse which was the perfect ending to all that hard eating. Felt delighted at the end of the meal.
