Best place to hang out:
“
This is one of the best place to hang out. I have been visiting Bamboo shoots from past 1 and a half year. The quality is the same which i used to have earlier. Even though this place is on a higher range the quality of the food does the talking. ”

The service you get makes the outing memorable.A good ambiance only can't fulfill shortcomings of service. This place has a very limited menu specially for vegetarians. The service wasn't efficient enough. We had to wait for more than 10 mins for dumplings and then told that it would take another 10-15 min, similar was the case with non veg dishes. ”

Red Bamboo shoot is for an elaborate chinese meal:

Chinese and Thai food lovers here is what you will get in dinning at Red Bamboo Shoots, Museum Road, Church Street, Bangalore
* Quality Food at affordable price
* Better Services by the waiter and the staff
* Good ambiance and decor
* Comfortable seating
* Spicy Chinese food
* Music
* Has valet parking available
* and many more
BJN really knows how to treat their customers well. The menu is purely Chinese rather I would say Indianised Chinese with the gravy much more hot, with more hot spices used to prepare the food at Red Bamboo Shoots. The restaurant is located at the junction of Museum Road and Church Street, Bangalore.
Inside of the Red Bamboo Shoots you will find wall paintings done in a traditional Chinese way, not those showy lightings but a perfect mix, music not so loud, you can carry on with your conversation with no interference from any other place. The Staff at Red Bamboo Shoots were extremely courteous, well groomed, very polite and respect their customers. The services offered by the staff is definitely the add on to the quality food prepared by them. There are sofas and chairs to keep your seating more comfortable. You will see there all types of tables to dine at red bamboo, you will find round, square, rectangular tables to choose from.
Now comes the best part that’s the food. The menu at red bamboos has a mix of both Chinese and Thai cuisines. I prefer Chinese food over Thai. I just had Thai food only twice and to tell you the truth I don’t enjoy Thai food.
I went to red bamboos along with my friends to have lunch. We ordered for the buffet. Though none of us is a veggie, the buffet had a very limited choice for veggies and not many choices are available for the starters too. The buffet started the lunch buffer with a soup, which was rich in garlic, tasted nice. Now comes the starters in which we had mushroom tikka and spring rolls which was even better than the soup. Everyone was enjoying the food. Now we proceeded to the main buffet. The main buffet has a very limited choices of 3 curries -for both veg and non-veg each, noodles -veg and non-veg and once rice. The desert menu consist of a sweet and faluda ice cream. The total bill for the lunch buffet was 225+taxes, which comes for about 300 per person, which was good, cheaper than many restaurants with that quality food offered by them.
Red bamboo also serves alcohol and the menu list in this section consists of some unusual names which I heard for the first time but its worth giving a shot. The cocktails are priced on a higher side.
Red bamboo at museum road, Church street, Bangalore is an excellent place for casual dining with a quality food reasonable prices with excellent food and quality service shown by the staff to the customers. Red Bamboo tends to get busy in the weekends so its always better to book the table well in advance if u want to avoid waiting for your table.

Not for a rush-rush:

If you are in a hurry and looking for a quick bite to grab, skip this.
At Bamboo Shoots, the pace is laid back with the staff giving you plenty of time to decide. For our clan of five this is great. The sight of a menu makes some blank out while others get into fisticuffs trying to have their say. After much ado we decided to order pan-fried noodles, satay chicken (what can i say, if it is Thai we definitely need to taste the Satay chicken); dumplings. Be sure to try the pan-fried noodles. The drinks menu is quite ordinary but the portion size, especially the noodles, are substantial.
So take care while ordering as a single dish would suffice for two. The fish items as also the dumplings are worth trying.
Ambience : pleasant
Service: good but laidback
Taste : Good
Reasonably priced.

Me and my wife wanted to try a new restaurant, and landed up in Bamboo Shoots. The food, the service, the ambiance were all top notch. The fish especially was gr8.
The place is small and makes up for a great place to have a good lunch. ”

Not good enough:
“
Had been to this place for a team lunch and was disappointed. The buffet had very limited choices especially for the veg, though its not cheap being priced at 150+ taxes. The spring rolls were cold and there were not many choices for starters. The vegetarians ended up eating just the spring roll as the veg dishes were very ordinary.
The dessert was a big let down too the honey darsaan was not crispy and the strawberry mousse tasted like cough syrup. The service however was good and the staff sounded very concerned when we wrote our negative feedback. All said, I would recommend Mainland China over Bamboo Shoots, if chinese buffet is what you want. Though a little expensive it has a very good spread and the food is very good.
However if you just want to have a good buffet (not chinese in particular) you may like to take the elevator in the museum inn to the top floor to Angeethi.
