When Lassi came, we ordered for straw for kids. I was disgusted to see that when the straw holder was put on the table, cockroaches started coming out. We also found that there were baby cockroaches inside straws.
We have decided to never go back again. I usually dont write reviews but this was ultimate toforce me to come to internate and write this.
I would rate this zero star but since I have to select one star for posting the review, I am selecting one.

Last weekend i visited Oye Amritsar restaurant with my friends for my birthday party. The look
of the hotel gave me a good impression. We had bought a cake from outside as they could
not arrange for a birthday cake. The happiest moment for me was that they sung a birthday
song for me. We ordered for tandoori chicken , butter chicken , and fish tikka and they have
variety of colourful salads and the food available is too spicy , In all those i loved butter chicken .
Oye Amritsar restaurant is one of the best punjabi style restaurant in bangalore. The waiters
at Oye Amritsar restaurant was very helpful and they were very attentive towards us. If you
prefer punjab style cuisine then the Oye Amritsar restaurant at church street is a good place
for that , their speciality is pure punjabi food , and the service is very good. The atmosphere at
the restaurant is simple but good. My experience of visiting this Oye Amritsar restaurant was
fabulous. They have even they serve alcoholic drinks.

Before criticizing the restaurant, Look at ur appetite, maybe u would hav had a breakfast, n then went there. AND its ur foolishness to order like crazies, without checkin with the staff about the quantities. How can u expect them to come and tel u about quantities, I am a hotel management graduate, and jus to let u know, this kind of attitude from staff can make the business suffer huge losses, they cant be pointing at cust's appetite directly or indirectly, rather its the cust's presence of mind, that's needed to check beforehand with them. Anyway, U probably suffer from lack of intelligence, better luck next time. Before pointing a finger at others, look for flaws in self. OYE AMRITSAR, U ROCK ”

Fortunately, Oye Amritsar surmounts all this to give you terrific VFM. The Buffet, in particular.
Friday saw our entire coterie walk down to Church Street, wait for 20 minutes and get ushered to a long table.
Already, the place was packed and it was a virtual fight to the Tandoori Fish and the Dal Makhani counters. but worth the arm jerking.
While hot puris are served at the table along with a choice of lassi or jal jeera, the food smacks of authentic punjabi cuisine. well as authentic as namma bengaluru permits.
the hot gajar halwa when we visited was a well-earned award for all the pain we went through.
but be sure to have someone who can yoddle aloud coz the waiters are a lil hard of hearing, with all the constant bzz-bzz.

one the first look of the place very good dhabha style ambiance .. for people who have been to Amritsar it does give a nostalgic feeling but that also raises the bar for the place..
we had ordered what you get the best in Amritsar ..
Tandoori chicken, Amritsari fish tikka , dal makhni & laccha parantha.. belive me the only thing which was palatable was the fish tikka rather that was good.. however tandoori chicken was cold & reheated (definately not out of the tandoor)the menucard says "Malviya nagar ke kulche" well Mr owner hope you eat yourself here your cooks dont know how to make basic laccha parantha (you could expect a laccha parantha with semi cooked & there is kaccha aata in..)
and the dal makhnai... semi cooked defiantly no where near to what you could get in Amritsar.. Amritsar is famous for the dal & that is really well cooked & leaves the flavor in your mouth.. our oye Amritsar gives you a kacchi pakki dal with half cooked malsala.. oye bhaioo suhar jaooo!!ya roti pakana sikh lawo ya kuwana chad dawo!!!......

we were greeted by a rude " you are so late....i was just about to cancel your booking" by the manager/ waiter....whoever that was. my first impulse was to turn back and run....but we had to catch lunch....and we were already late.
the buffet was looking promising...but as soon as the food got over from the buffet table, the staff also vanished....leaving the customers struggling to somehow scrape off the leftovers from the empty dishes on the buffet table!!!! so much so for the fabulous buffet priced at around Rs. 200.
as far as the decor is concerned, its a poor copy of Angeethi....the pseudo dhaba look.........might have been pleasant if the service staff had not completely spoiled the experience for us........will definitely stay miles away from it next time. ”

I was new in the city and looking for good punjabi restraunt to dine on my first marriage anniversary and i came across this name OYE AMRITSAR. I think what is this name. Searched more on this on web andamp; came across couple of good view about it. Noted down phone number and book a table for 2.
When i was there i was amazed by its look so much PUNJABI Village Dhaba style. ordered food "Makki Di Roti" , "Sarso Da Saag", "Dal Makhni" , "Lassi" andamp; "Lachhe wali kulfi". Frankely speaking Lassi in big glass named "Karre Wala Glass" amazing taste and quantity. We two were totaly full with that stuff only but was anxious for food. Took first bite and i was in heaven.
You might think i am speaking extra but frankly speaking guys its worth to visit. I must say you will miss not something but everything if you are not there.
Regarding Price: best deal just 550 for 2 veggies.
So don't wait just go there.

On reaching there I found it beloned to the same group to which civet belongs ( read the previous review) well my experience was not horrendous as srini but it was nothing to rave about as well.
Firstly the restaurant decor seems to have been inspired by Angeethi (BJN) but the chairs are more comfortable, though the tables were quite small, the thalis etc just didnt fit. Anyways, leaving aside the trivial things and coming to food. We ordered the buffet meals. The meals are served on the table, which means you get all the dishes ( whether you want it or not ) packed in a thali. The veg starter Amritsari paneer Pakode where good and so was the non veg starter Mutton Chop. The food was good but too oily, the rotis where also good. The only sore thing was that except the rotis the rest of the dishes were not hot. The service was decent however they took a looong time to give the bill. The dessert was something different from the usual gulab jamuns and ice creams. Overall it was a normal experience.. nothing great but not bad either. Can give it a try.

You know the biggest surprise for us that we have 75% done with lassi andamp; starters as they itself is big in Quantity. And no body is able to eat the rest of the thali stuff and all of them have taken only small portion of it. We complained the same to their manager and that if these quantity itself is too heavy then the waiter has to tells us before as we are coming here for the first time( atleast restaurant people has guide us that this will be too heavy for you guys). Our Bill went to Rs. 3500 so we feel that Oye Amritsar basically cheat people. ”

We started off with Chef recommendation of Lassis and were pleasanly surprised to see it being served it big steel glasses. Also ordered veg and non veg platters and tandoori chicken. The quanity of all the items was very good(infact we had to get some gravy items packed).
The food was really good.. authentic taste.. best was the way they have decorated the place.. with phrases like "world famous in punjab" and a few others...we had hearty laugh..
Among the desserts, Jalebi and Kulfi were the ones we tried. Make sure you have others to share Jalebi..1 plate has 6-7 pieces and that too big sizes..
For the main course they also have Thali options..veg one priced at rs.150 and non veg at Rs.175. Though we didn't try that out.. it looked like a good option.. because avg meal for 2 in case of a-la-carte would be close to Rs.600-650.
And yes, for those who drink... they serve liquor as well. ”

The food is good and not very spicy as you would feel if you go to any other Punjabi restaurant. The service is prompt and best part of the food was the lassi, that reminded me of how it is served in Amritsar. It comes in huge steel tumblers and just had the correct mix of sweet, salt, dry fruits and malai.. I just loved it.
I was delighted to see they had a valet parking available which is a great relief if you are going anywhere close to MG Road:)
