I usually order from Mast Kalandar when I feel the urge to taste some good North India food in my meals. I have ordered several time from this branch of Mast Kalandar and it doesn't disappoint me, especially if one is looking for simple home type food.
There are different branches of Mast Kalandar in Bangalore and each one of them have their own style of preparing the same menu. While the Indiranagar branch I would is great, the Jeevn Bheema and Airport road branches lack a touch of authenticity of North India style.
Combos are great to order for a filling meal. However, one thing that does pinch me is the container charges, taxes, carry bags etc. which are added after the selection of food items. The prices should all be inclusive.
But all in all, a good place to order from and infact as I write the review, I am ordering again! ”

Hostelers and college kids in and around the area so frequently order cakes with funny captions on them so its just normal if the guy answering the phone corrects you if you spell bumbulatti wrong!

I am a regular customer of Mast Kalandar. I like the food quality here.
For the first time today, I ordered instead of going to the restaurant.
I placed the order at 11:00 am on friday and asked the delivery to be at 12:30 pm.
It was delivered at 1:45 pm!!! They have absolutely no time sense. ”

Their staff are lairs, for home delivery they take 50 min, (Publish on their web site), After 50 Minute, if your food has not delivered, and you call, first thing they will say it has already left 15 min. ago. When you again call them after 15-20 minutes, they will say it is leaving now.. and so on....
Never order for delivery even if you are on the same road and walking distance is not more than 2-3 minutes.( Same like me) ”

Mast kalandar is one of the better and the best restaurant in and around Indiranagar to have punjabi food. As i am a pure vegetarian i hate to enter non-veg serving restaurants. If you want to have some hygienic food than mast kalandar is the place to go. Do try their biryani combo, its really a treat to have. And a complete value for money. Its worth paying 130rs for a single person. I am a regular eater at mast kalandar, i normally visit mast kalandar with my family on week ends, sometimes it will me much tough to get seats. I normally reserve the table in advance through hungryzone.com. Great work mast kalandar, keep the quality the same for ever. Jai ho punjabi khana. Cheers :) ”

I went to Mast Kalandar last Saturday with my family for lunch. We tasted this king of North Indian food after a long time and for the first time in Bangalore. They source masalas from all the North Parts of India and I think that is the reason that the taste is very authentic.
Service was also good and we enjoyed our meal. We will go back again for more.
I will recommend this place to all who are looking for good North Indian food in bangalore. Please try the great indian combo. chas is too good and gulab jamuns were very nice too. ”

Their Delivery Service is pathetic. Always delayed. I just order from there because the food is better. In my most recent experience. they delivered approximately 90 minutes after placing the order (when my place is within 3 KM from the restaurant)..
Also the management there is very rude...
So if you want to dine in or takeaway, then it is fine; though not good for delivery. ”

I visited Mast Kalandar CMH Road Indiranagar on Saturday 3 October with my wife for lunch. She ordered a Power Combo. They gave yellow dal instead of the dal palak. Half way through, she found a dead cockroach in the yellow dal. Both of us went into the kitchen to see the situation and it was appallingly unhygienic and dirty. While the outside looks neat and nice, the kitchen is a mess. I was shocked and want other poeple to know this. ”

Received an order 90 minutes after placing the order and even then it was an incomplete order. The bill had been altered to reduce the quantity of one item and the person on the phone blamed the delivery boy for getting the incorrect number of items.
When we talked to the manager he was very rude and not willing to accept their mistake. When he did send the remaining order after another 30 mins the food was cold and tasted like crap. Safe to say I'll never be eating here EVER again. ”

i have eaten at both their branches, koramangala and indiranagar. strangely, for a chain, the indiranagar branch is vastly superior in terms of both quality and quantity.
any and every dish is a homely, wholesome meal complete in itself and always reminds me of mom's food.
the home delivery is quick and efficient and i have always had a good experience with their service.
highly recommend the kadi combos and the paratha combos.
the vegetables are fresh, the preparation is easy on the grease and one does not feel a bloated stomach at the end of the meal ”

We have been there quite a few times and i have loved the food (its really homely food), and the service is also pretty good. There is enough variety to choose from. And the best part is that I can even get some non-spicy food for my kids - the halka phulka is a great option. I only wish they were more spacious - on weekends, its better to go early , maybe around 7 or 7.30 pm. Plus, of course, you have the perennial problem of parking on CMH Road :-(
