Hey foodies…

Happy Earth day!!

This is a day to inspire awareness and appreciate the Earth’s natural environment. Its time to GO GREEN!! We know who earth’s enemy is – it’s US! We humans seriously need to wake up and do all we can to protect mother earth. It’s high time we do something to control pollution and ensure that the natural resources are used wisely!!

It’s time to take notice of all the destruction that we have caused and do our best to save our environment!!

On this day we bring to you some Earth day facts:

• Earth day was first observed on April 22, 1970 in Wisconsin.
• It was conceived by US senator- Gaylord Nelson.
• Earth day is observed twice annually. It is held during spring in the northern hemisphere and during autumn in the southern hemisphere.
• Earth day is celebrated on the March Equinox each year by the United Nations. Peace activist John McConell founded this tradition in 1969.
• Gaylord Nelson founded the tradition of celebrating Earth Day on April 22nd every year in 1970.
• The Earth Day is coordinated by the Earth Day Network , a non-profit organization founded by the organizers of the first Earth day held in 1970.
• It is observed in 175 countries.
• Cartoonist Ron Cobb created the “Ecology flag”. It was first published on October 25th, 1969.

So this Earth Day, take the initiative and do your bit to SAVE OUR PLANET!!

We at JustEat are not just a reliable food ordering portal, but a RESPONSIBLE organization that supports the great George Bernard Shaw’s thought that “We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility for our future”!! We are doing our bit starting this Earth Day by introducing bio-degradable poly bags that will be provided to the restaurants for home deliveries you foodies order..

GO GREEN: Design of the bio-degradable bag

GO GREEN: Design of the bio-degradable bag

These bio-degradable poly bags are positive on the side of environmental issues as they will ultimately decompose on their own in natural aerobic (composting) and anaerobic (landfill) environments. We would also like to encourage our users to start using bio-degradable bags! We’re sure this would be a significant contribution towards saving our natural environment!

We have begun the change we wanted to see in the world.. So what are you doing to protect mother nature?? Do share your thoughts…

JustEat wishes you all a Happy Earth Day once again!

We at JustEat do not advise using any plastic bags. But, If you are still using them, It better be bio – degradable!!
