God couldn’t be everywhere, so he created Mothers! 0

Posted on May 12, 2012 by Byomkesh

Foodies,

It wouldn’t surprise us if you say you concur with what Robert Frost claimed, “The father is always a Republican toward his child, and his mother’s always a Democrat.” Fathers are less permissive and tolerant of the foibles and frailties of their children. But not the mother! How could she? As Oprah Winfrey says,”Biology is the least of what makes someone a mother.” Consistently caring, eternally forgiving and invariably encouraging–these are only a few of the general traits of a Mother.

So, on this mother’s day, sit at  home, spend quality time with your mother, and of course, don’t you dare, let her enter into the kitchen! JustEat Hai Na to take care of all your food delivery or table booking needs.

Fast Growing Slow Food 0

Posted on May 05, 2012 by Anusha

Remember cucumber and watermelon once used to be available only during the summer, and corn during the rainy season? Forget the foods, seasons themselves have altered greatly these days; you can hardly tell summer from winter.

Well, there has been an uprising movement of “Slow Food” globally, of late. “Slow Food” refers to the natural cultivation of vegetables, fruits, and spices, with little or no chemical fertilizers. Organic cultivation is basically at the root of the Slow Food Movement. This also means that seasonal foods will retain their seasonal selves.

Quite a few restaurants have joined this movement in India, and have taken it up in their stride to offer healthy and wholesome food to their customers.

The Slow Food movement is bringing back greener vegetables and healthier fruits with seasonal limitations as well. Ever heard your granny say, “The food during our times used to be so healthy and fresh”? Now go on and tell her those days are back!

So, the next time you come across a “Slow Food” menu, don’t think, JustEat!

JustEat on SMS 1

Posted on May 02, 2012 by admin

Foodies,

You may remember us announcing that now you can get the information about restaurants in your area through an SMS (normal charges; no STD/premium pricing).

SMS food info

We use txtWeb platform from Intuit for powering that. Following is a video in which our Head of Technology, Mr. Ramjee Ganti talks about the rationale behind this initiative:–

Check out for his quote from 1 minute 20 sec :–

“Though India is probably the third or fourth largest in terms of internet usage population, the percentage penetration is still very less. One thing we noticed is that SMS is a very big medium and a lot of people actually use SMS for various purposes of finding out services and this is where txtWeb marries what we do with what consumers want.”

So, don’t wait. Send a text message @justeat <cuisine> <location> to 9243342000 or 9243534567.

(e.g @justeat chinese HSR; @justeat biryani NOIDA). (Both cuisine and location are optional fields)

Cheers
